He served as a professor of French literature at Lyon until he was fired for publishing a satirical poem that was highly critical of Napoleon III and the Second Empire. Laprade's prose criticisms consist of classical and metaphysical studies as well as wide-ranging commentary on European literature. He disliked irony and skepticism which probably lead him to underrate 18th-century literature. He was also elected to the National Assembly as a conservative in 1871. <!-- if !supportLists-->o <!--endif-->Handwritten – Petrus De Laplasse <!-- if !supportLists-->· <!--endif-->Binding: Leather; tight and secure <!-- if !supportLists-->· <!--endif-->Size: ~5.25in X 3in 13cm x 8cm Our Guarantee: Very Fast.
