The collection of works signed in the 17th century by some members of this printing house and the analysis of archival sources can be considered an addition to the limited production of catalogues of 17th century editions and publications. Furthermore it led to the conclusion that 17th century production in Verona was everything but scarce, worthless or victim of an editorial and, at the same time, cultural crisis. 612 gr. 324 p.
Prontera?s studies focus on major figures of Greek culture (Herodotus, Eratosthenes, Polybius and Strabo), who played a leading role in the foundation and transmission of geographical knowledge. As shown in these studies, the Late Hellenistic Period saw relative progress in ancient cartography regarding the profile of the Mediterranean Sea and the Asian continent, as well as ?regional? areas characterizing the Oikoumene: the Iberian Peninsula, Italy, Sicily and Asia Minor. 500 gr. iv-267 p.
