They challenge the idea of the narrative of return as a journey back to the untouched roots and home that the ethnic subject left behind. Per sottolineare la gravità della cosa, si ricordava che nel contratto di nozze era stato scritto che alla moglie spettavano:spillatico, cocchiere, servizio di scuderia, cameriera, palco a teatro (p.2). A turbare la pace coniugale era intervenuta "una tal signora di Boemia", di cui si era invaghito il marito e che aveva voluto ospitare in casa loro, a Pisa, nel "quartiere dei forestieri": la moglie, irritata, si era così ritirata nella villa di Pugnano di proprietà dei Dal Borgo. E dopo era iniziata la lite.
