1986147 pages including index. Prehistoric dates and more dates have been computed to provide admissibility for the mythic history of Homo sapiens in a framework of recorded mythological events, as well as the arrival of a planetoid which triggered the last Ice Age and the Flood, its hypothetical crash in northeastern Canada that brought forth Halley's comet. A crisp copy of an extremely useful work, detailing the skills and technologies that helped create the Industrial Revolution. These 19th century trade guides are usually found in poor condition. Born in Bridesburg, near Philadelphia, in 1825, he became a partner in the publishing house of Carey & Hart in 1845, and in 1849 established the new house of Henry Carey Baird & Company. They soon became the premier technical and industrial publishers in the nation. He was at first a Whig , and subsequently a Republican in politics. but in 1875 he joined the National Greenback Party and became one of its leaders. He wrote extensively on questions relation to the national economy, advocating views similar to those of Henry C. Carey, his uncle. **PRICE JUST REDUCED! W145
