Complete in three volumes. With a portrait frontispiece to volume I. A collection of the satirical novels poetry criticism and miscellaneous works of Thomas Love Peacock an English novelist poet and official of the East India Company best known for the novel 'Nightmare Abbey' present in this collection. Peacock wrote satirical novels each with the same basic setting: characters at a table discussing and criticising the philosophical opinions of the day. With an introduction from the Hon. Lord Houghton an English poet patron of literature and a politician. Biographical notes from Edith Nicolls the granddaughter of Peacock. Edited by Henry Cole a British author and editor. In the original full cloth binding. Externally sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards with small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine resulting in minor loss. A split to the front joint of volume one. Internally firmly bound.
