Pasted onto the verso of the front end-paper is a form note signed by Buck addressing booksellers and offering her thanks for their efforts while introducing a new work her 1954 semi-autobiographical "My Several Worlds". It seems clear that this was a piece of ephemera for review copies of that later work and the previous owner has simply pasted it into this copy of "The Good Earth". The note is in very good condition with some spotting. Not perfect but a presentable and collectable copy with a fairly uncommon signature and at a great price. The John Day Company hardcover
