When the staff of the Berkeley Barb went on strike against publisher Max Scherr they printed one issue of Barb on Strike before starting the Berkeley Tribe at issue 2 thus this is the Tribe's true first issue. Cover shows photo of Max's face within a clenched fist. Bulk of the issue consists of short Barb-style news items with the two main articles devoted to the trial of accused bomber Wayne Green and to the Barb strike itself.
