Very Good condition. 8vo; bound in "full leather in facsimile of the original on exhibition at the Vatican an Italian binding of the middle of the eighteenth century; the cover is ornamented with a handsome geometrical design combined with arabesques and blind stamped with heated tools to render portions of the leather darker; on compartments formed by the pattern are introduced the instruments of the Passion. Various arms stamped in the center of the covers. Solidly bound with cloth hinges. Numerous photogravure plates on Japan vellum. Occasional rubbing fading; foxing to margins of frontispieces tissue guard and lightly on edges of title pages; some offset to titles from frontis engravings.
