Illustrated by Lucy E. Kemp-Welch with a monochrome frontispiece and three monochrome plates. Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards and a past owner's gilt stamp to the front board bound by Bumpus with their signature to the front pastedown. This work was written by Scottish novelist and poet George John Whyte-Melville. The novel follows the adventures of an interpreter and his time at war. Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards. Externally smart with fading to the spine slight bumping and rubbing to the extremities and slight marks to the boards.
