Anche il poeta partecipa al miracolo trasformandosi da bestia ad amante cortese. Le diverse tradizioni che Boccaccio fonde nella Caccia sono illustrate nell'introduzione del volume nella quale si affrontano le principali questioni poste dal poemetto: oltre a ripercorrerne la storia dell'attribuzione e il problema relativo alla sua cronologia se ne indaga la struttura metrica l' opera ha un posto di qualche rilievo nella fortuna della terza rima e la ricchezza del lessico. Il volume pubblica il testo critico della Caccia fondato sul riesame dell'intera tradizione manoscritta accompagnato da un commento che mira a valorizzare i rapporti con la tradizione precedente a partire dal modello narrativo di Dante puntando anche a far emergere la componente popolare e giullaresca rimasta finora pi� in ombra rispetto alla dimensione galante. La nuova edizione offre un testo rinnovato ed � corredata di una nota al testo che d� conto delle scelte editoriali legate alla sostanza e alla lingua del poernetto.
