A war-time diary written by an African American soldier in the segregated American army during World War II. The author traveled through Africa the Middle East Burma Pakistan and India. His view of the war and world from the inside is interesting enough but he also feels sympathy for the downtrodden people of color he sees on his travels and reports on their culture condition and hopes as well. Dark red cover is clean and bright with traces of an impression as though someone used the book as a prop for writing. Silver gilt is bright top of spine is chipped.
