Original 160-page manuscript on 75 leaves written in 2 hands Boileau's own hand and one of a scribe. The manuscript is dated 1691 9 years before the publication of the book. The manuscript contains numerous additions and corrections in Boileau's hand all of substantial textual importance and most of which were later incorporated into the book. The condition is generally good. The top third suffered some water damage at one time. The added contemporary covers and endpapers are in very bad condition; but the text itself although the paper is deteriorating is entirely readable. Very Nice. <br/> <br/> unknown
