London: Chapman and Hall 1873. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7� - 9�" tall. This book is clean tight square with good corners and unmarked. The back strip is sunned and lightly bumped at the ends. there are pull tears at the top of the back strip. The beveled boards are blind stamped and covered with a mauve colored cloth. There is an errata page including instructions to the binder as to where to place the supplement. The supplement has illustrations and sections have decorative pictorial cardboard title pages Absent the flaws to the back strip the book is in better than very good condition. Condition of book is GOOD ; Brown cloth is splitting at top & bottom edges of spine part of spine label missing boards lightly worn & soiled frontis portrait very nice with lt. blue tissue protector intact realistic facsimile signature on frontis part of the top edge of text block has been eroded by something to 1/8 inch depth endpapers yellowed but text is very clean.
