Bedauerlicherweise ist die Erotica-Sammlung Karl Ludwig Leonhardts völlig unzureichend dokumentiert, da sie nie umfassend katalogisiert wurde. Vor Jahren wurde immerhin der englischsprachige Bestand als Liste erfaßt, und er wird hier nun erstmals zugänglich gemacht. 3. Als ein Rarum besonderer Art wird die nie veröffentlichte Übersetzung von G. Legmans Love & Death and the Fake Revolt wiedergegeben, von der sich lediglich eine Umbruchkorrektur erhalten hat. Sie ist überdies bemerkenswert, weil sie einen ansonsten unveröffentlichten Essay Legmans sowie einige Zusätze für die deutsche Ausgabe enthält. Der Autor hat überdies eine Korrektur gelesen und das Titelblatt entworfen." (Vorwort).‎

‎"The present work fills a gap as it attempts to offer a history of erotic literature published in the United Kingdom. The word Study in the title is perhaps a bit exaggerated as the material is largely taken from the now well known bibliographies by Pisanus Fraxi (Henry Spencer Ashbee) and quotations from the books themselves. The time line is WW II. Who was the author? He may have been Charles Reginald Dawes (1879-1964) who is supposed to have written (but not published) a text of this or a similar title. His profession or his activities are not known - he once called himself a writer but library catalogues credit him only with two publications: The Marquis de Sade (Paris 1927) and Retif de la Bretonne (London 1946, privately printed). He may have been a popular writer under pseudonyms, though. Dawes owned a good erotica collection which he willed to the British Museum Library; that would explain why the author of this Study - if he was Dawes - could quote freely from erotic texts which only few of his contemporaries would have had available. The main merits of this book are that the author was thoroughly familiar with English (and French) erotic literature and that he put his material in chronological order and in context. The editor added a number of references, illustrations and indices of personal names and titles to facilitate navigation." (Verlagsmitteilung). Gutes Exemplar.‎

Il volume raccoglie i carteggi di Fernando Schiavetti dal 1908 al 1969, i suoi scritti, appunti e carte peronali, oltre alle riviste, ai libri e agli opuscoli anteriori e successivi al 25 aprile 1945. Il fondo Schiavetti consta di 123 fascicoli, migliaia di documenti, oltre 2000 volumi provenienti dalla sua biblioteca personale. Tale ricchissimo materiale è giunto all'Istituto Storico della Resistenza in Toscana in tempi diversi. Il nucleo originale fu acquisito nel 1981 e inventariato da Francesco Martelli. Quindici anni dopo l'Istituto entrò in possesso di un secondo gruppo di documenti. Nel volume è riportato l'inventario completo, nato dalla fusione del repertorio del Martelli (corretto e integrato in base a nuova verifica) con l'inventario relativo all'appendice documentaria, redatto nel 2004. Alla documentazione archivistica si aggiungono i libri e le riviste che costituiscono la biblioteca Schiavetti, materiale fondamentale per capire gli interessi e il profilo culturale di uno dei protagonisti dell'antifascismo e della politica italiana.‎
