It illustrates with sufficient clearness and fulness the early history of the Art which has been the most powerful agent in the work of Civilisation. It would be an occasion for regret, if such a gathering of books as is described in this catalogue, were to undergo a total dissolution, and be scattered in single volumes over the earth. Numero della rivista edita dalla Nebiolo di Torino, la maggiore fabbrica di macchine da stampa e fonderia di caratteri italiana. La rivista fu fondata nel 1889 da Giovanni Nebiolo e Giuseppe Levi con l'intento di sviluppare la conoscenza pratica della cromotipia, degli stampati commerciali, e in genere di tutto cio' che era applicazione artistica di caratteri e fregi tipografici costituendo una sorta di cronistoria figurata dell'evoluzione dell'arte italiana applicata alla tipografia. In questo numero: De' piu' noti scrittori di caratteri e calligrafi italiani nel Cinquecento di Raffaello Bertieri; Notizie editoriali e diverse nel campo grafico italiano.
