<p>Seltene erste Veröffentlichung von Brechts Erzählung aus dem Jahre 1940. Nachdem er des Hochverrates beschuldigt war musste Brecht aus dem nationalsozialistischen Deutschland fliehen. Die Geschichte deren Motiv er einer chinesischen Erzählungvon Li Qingzhao entnommen hatte wurde im Exil geschrieben und spielt in Brechts Heimatstadt Augsburg während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges 1618–1648.</p><p>In: "Internationale Literatur.
