The legendary "Cahiers du Cinema" Magazine Issue shows the great film director in a closeup portrait by the brilliant photographer Sam Levin. The portrait Bresson's favorite shows him as a matinee-idol-type handsome man with his signature silver mane. The entire Issue is devoted to his art achievement and legacy as the "Mozart of film" Jean-Luc Godard. The promotional single-weight silver-gelatin print of his very last film "L'Argent" shows the protagonist in a key scene and has become its single most iconic image. Print size is 8.0 X 10.0 inches vertical portrait. Eminently suitable for framing. Encased in its own protective plastic sheet with brown cardboard backing. When her neighbor an aspiring journalist suspects Danielle of a brutal murder the horror of Danielle's disturbing past begins to surface. Director Brian De Palma based his original story on a Life magazine article about conjoined twins in the Soviet Republic who had been successfully separated but were experiencing psychological problems as a result of the operation. <br/><br/>With its use of visually dense point-of-view and split-screen camera techniques "Sisters" is one of De Palma's earliest forays into erotic voyeurism as a conduit for psychological horror paving the way for a string of idiosyncratic psychosexual projects in the ensuing years such as "Obsession" 1976 "Dressed to Kill" 1980 "Blow Out" 1981 and "Body Double" 1984 among others. Laid in with the script is a five page production document pertaining to casting with holograph ink annotations to the verso of the final page noting a to-do list and brief timetable.<br/><br/>Based on Edwin Torres' 1975 novel "Carlito's Way" and its 1979 sequel "After Hours" following a Puerto Rican inmate who finds it difficult to escape his criminal past after being released from prison. <br/><br/>A very early draft for the film which was originally intended to be directed by Leon Ichaso produced by Elliott Kastner and star Marlon Brando alongside Al Pacino. In 1989 Kastner sued Pacino for six million dollars claiming the actor had gone back on an agreement to star in Kastner's version of the film.
