Van Dyke and starring William Powell Myrna Loy and Maureen O'Sullivan. Van Dyke's film would be the first of six adaptations based on the characters Nick and Nora Charles from his novel published earlier the same year. Burbank CA: Warner Brothers 1931. Collection of 20 vintage studio still photographs from the 1931 pre-Code film and the first adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's classic hard boiled novel. All but two images with the Warner Brothers / Vitaphone logo at the bottom margin. This first adaptation made well prior to the establishment of the Hayes Code carries a set of characters whose common quality is one of general immorality. John Huston's better known 1941 version would translate that quality into a dialogue-intensive hard boiled if much warmer style. The principal image of Ricardo Cortez as Sam Spade with the shadow of the falcon looming behind him has the original snipe from the film a "Received" stamp dated May 20 1931 eight days prior to the film's release date and another date stamp of May 27 1931. Other photos with various stamps relating to the studio or to the collection of Carlos Clarens. 8 x 10 inches. Three images faded to sepia overall clean and Very Good to Near Fine. The monk tries to save the guest's lives without violating the holy secrecy of the confession. <br/><br/>An uncommon poster designed by Hans Hillmann widely acknowledged as one Germany's top graphic designers whose work consists of over 130 film posters and book designs. This episode is based on an original story by Harlan Ellison. Copy belonging to an uncredited crew member named Chuck Sereci with his name in holograph pencil on the front wrapper. <br/><br/>Logan Harrison and his partner Jessica Menzies-Urich discover an underground room a crypt with six cryogenically frozen survivors of the nuclear holocaust. Logan and Jessican attempt to rescue them in the midst of a series of earthquakes. <br/><br/>"Logan's Run" 1977-1978 was a short-lived but notable sci-fi television series based on the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. Logan a rebellious law enforcement agent and his partner Jessica the series main characters are nearing the age of 30. In their futuristic society the age of 30 is considered one's deathbed so the two go on the run to find sanctuary and freedom from the dystopian society. <br/> <br/>Harlan Ellison had been writing for television since 1963 "Ripcord" and wrote for several notable series including "The Outer Limits" "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." "Star Trek" "The Twilight Zone" and "Babylon 5" and its many spin-offs.
