From the archives of Maurice Bessy 1910-1993 a French film historian novelist and screenwriter "Deadlier Than the Male" 1956 and a handful of films 1939-1950. Bessy's rubber stamp and name label on the verso of one still with brief annotations in holograph ink on the versos of both stills. <br/><br/>Featured in one still is director Duvivier and actor Sergio Fantoni both engaging in what appears to be a spirited conversation. In the next still Duvivier shoots a bandaged Delon in his hospital bed surrounded by members of the crew. <br/><br/>Based on the 1962 book "Manie de la persecution" by Louis C. Thomas. After a near fatal car crash resulting in a coma Pierre Delon awakens to a new life. From the archives of French weekly "Tele Magazine" with two stamps on the verso one referencing its inclusion in issue 52 page 5 along with holograph annotations regarding layout and the French title. Based on the 1956 play "Forever Alive" by Viktor Rozov who also wrote the screenplay about a young woman who must flee in the face of Nazi Germany's invasion of Russia while feeling guilty over her missing lover who unbeknownst to her has been killed in the war. Winner of the Palme d'Or the only Soviet film to do so while star Tatiana Samoylova would receive a Special Mention for her role becoming a European film icon in the process. 12 x 9.5 inches. The Red Tent Working script for the 1969 film with original reference photograph
Soviet Union: Mosfilm 1969. Working post-production script for the 1969 film. Combination of typescript and carbon typescript with annotations in red holograph ink throughout. Laid in is a vintage borderless reference photograph from the film. An unusual internal script from the production of the Soviet-Italian co-production that was ultimately distributed worldwide by Paramount Pictures. Not a post-production script in the typical sense meaning a script that reflects the finished edited film. Rather a script that was produced in the midst of editing with numerous annotations regarding editing changes that still need to be made. The text is in English but the wrapper is Italian meaning that it was likely issued by the Italian arm of the production. The commander of a failed 1928 Arctic airship expedition remembers the events of the "Italia" airship flight crash and subsequent rescue efforts. The "ghosts" of people involved in the events appear in his memories to assist him in determining his guilt in the affair. The reminiscences are mixed with the real action: the flight of the "Italia" the air rescue operation from Kings Bay airfield the expedition of the "Krassin" ice-breaker. A sort of human touch is added by the ever beautiful C.C. playing Malmgren's girlfriend. Green titled wrappers. Noting 12 reels. Carbon typescript on onionskin stock. Very Good.
