Unbound letter-sized periodical issues vary in length from 8-12 pp. All in very good or better condition.
Community newsletter printed by the ATFADV to raise awareness of domestic violence in the Asian-American communities in the Boston area. The organization was founded in 1987 run entirely by volunteers with a very small budget. By 1995 they had grown to 12-person staff agency with close to a half million dollar budget and developed the first battered Asian women's shelter the Asian Shelter and Advocacy Program ASAP. The organization has continued to grow to this day providing even more resources in legal aid sheltering ESOL classes a 24-hour help hotline and even more outreach designed to aid and heal the communities at large.
In this grouping of 9 newsletters over the years of 1992 to 1999 there are announcements and articles on this growth of ATFADV with features and perspectives on outreach and stories from survivors advocates and volunteers respectively.
The newsletters are scarce documents in the market place and OCLC locates only 2 institutional holdings.
