The last of the "giant creature" films directed by Gordon from the 1950s. In an attempt to ride on the success of "The Fly" which debuted a few months earlier in 1958 the film's working title "The Spider" replaced "Earth vs. the Spider" on most of its promotional materials. Beth Henley's followup to her screenwriting debut in "True Stories" resulted in one of the best early performances by Rosanne Arquette in a film that today seems especially non-formulaic and quirkily inspired shot on location in Prescott AZ and Sedona AZ. <br/><br/>Untitled blue wrappers. Title page present with a date of February 19 1986 marked REVISED DRAFT with a credit for screenwriter Henley. 105 leaves mechanical duplication with two blue revision pages both dated 3/3/86.
