These original mimeograph Reclamation Service engineering volumes detail the specifications for the construction of the Keechelus Dam and Keechelus Lake project at the beginning of the 20th century as part of six reservoirs intended originally to fertilize the verdant Yakima Valley. The Pacific Northwest private irrigation companies lacked the capital and engineering expertise to make the investment so through the Land Reclamation Act of 1902 the Keechelus project arose. Employing over 600 engineers surveyors and laborers The Keechelus Dam was completed from 1913-1917 at the head of the Yakima River and provided about 15 percent of the water stored for the Yakima Irrigation District. By the end of the 1990s it was determined that the dam was facing potential failure from piping and erosion so an elevation of 2510 feet was imposed and modifications and reconstruction were undertaken to control seepage and reduce erosion. The maps included in these volumes encompass the size of the Lake Dam the Spillway elevations of the Spillway Plan and Profile of the original dam under construction detailed record map of test pits as well as relocation of State Roads. Swigart 1864-1928 was an Ohio-born civil engineer who had been located in Everett WA at the time the project was first proposed and by 1903 was located in Yakima WA overseeing and directing the variety of reservoir projects as well as the reports on stream-flow records previously under the direction of the Geological Survey. Many of these maps show progress reports in hand-colouring indicating areas finished or under construction. No copies located in Worldcat. Quarto photo-illustrated stapled wraps 70 pp. New and quite pristine with the interesting anomaly of two pages having been uncut hence requiring inward folding. 22nd-ranked Duke won this game 27-10 against an undermanned Orange team playing without fifteen injured players - including their first three quarterbacks. At the end of the third quarter the game was knotted at 10-10 nonetheless. In the final stanza the usually prolific Blue Devil offense got untracked and won going away. Brilliant color photography herein including color head shots of both coaching staffs and SU's senior players. All the other standard program elements are of course included. Sharp unused unread and pristine example for your collection. See scan. LPR50 Syracuse IMG Sports Marketing paperback

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians Original poster for the 1964 film
Los Angeles: Embassy Pictures 1964. Vintage one sheet poster for the 1964 film a variant we have never before encountered. Considered one of the worst films of all time as well as a legitimate so-bad-it's-good cult classic which gained renewed notoriety after being shown in Season 3 Episode 21 of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" a unimpeachable highlight of that show's original run. Notable as the first documented appearance of the Mrs. Claus character in a film and the first film role for actress Pia Zadora who played one of the Martian children and whose career never recovered. 27 x 41 inches folded as issued. Very Good plus with some diagonal creasing to the corners and minor starting to the folds but still bright and unfaded. Embassy Pictures unknown
