Clarice Starling Foster is a young F.B.I. cadet who is tracking a serial killer Levine who skins his victims. In hopes of gaining knowledge of the killer and his whereabouts she must confide in an incarcerated man himself a killer and confessed cannibal Dr. Hannibal Lecter Hopkins. One of the greatest films of the 1990s from many aspects the defining horror film of the decade and arguably one of the scariest most nightmarish films ever made. Literally a "mind-blowing" film in which two young psychic savants possess the ability to blow up the head of a another person by means of telekinesis. Douglas and Cassavetes play two men one good one evil battling for control over the youngsters with Cassavetes on the nefarious side of the line. One of DePalma's most entertaining genre films pre-dating Cronenberg's slightly more intellectual "Scanners" by 3 years.
