Circa 1970. 1970. Fine. - sc An original 5-3/4 inch high by 4 inch wide glossy color photograph on FujiChrome photo stock. The bold image depicts the American film director Samuel Fuller in three-quarter profile from the chest up. Inscribed in block letters penned in blue ink "Luck to both of you" and signed in full "Samuel Fuller". The letter "B" in "both" is slightly smudged. Near fine. <p>Samuel Fuller known for his early low-budget movies with controversial themes inspired and influenced many independent directors including Quentin Tarrantino Jim Jarmusch and Martin Scorcese. His pulp-inspired dialogue and spare precise style was strongly influenced by his early work as a journalist and crime reporter. The director of "The Steel Helmet" "Pick Up on South Street" "Shock Corridor" and "The Naked Kiss" moved to France after the studio refused to release his film based on Romain Gary's "White Dog". The French New Wave claimed him as one of theirs and as a major influence on their style. Circa [1970]. unknown

The Entity Archive of 7 screenplay drafts for the 1982 film
Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox 1980. Archive of seven scripts for the 1982 film. Included is a first draft third draft four undated drafts and one draft under the working title "Carlotta: A Haunted Lady." Two scripts with holograph annotations present. From the estate of Frank De Felitta. Based on the 1978 novel of the same name about a real case of an alleged haunting. In 1974 Culver City Doris Bither claimed the ghosts of three men were raping her. De Felitta was present during the investigation with lead researcher and parapsychologist Dr. Barry Taff who served as technical advisor on "The Entity" as well as being represented in the film by the character Gene Kraft. "The Entity" is one of the few possession films that ends with White Science and Black Magic in a draw. Critics of the time dismissed the film but it still became something of a cult classic that evoked "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist." Screenwriter Frank De Felitta was born 1921 in the Bronx. He served as a pilot right out of high school in WWII and returned to New York in 1945 where he began writing scripts. His first produced work was for the radio thriller series "The Whistler" and once established he turned to television writing producing and directing documentaries receiving Emmy nominations in 1963 and 1968. By the early 70's De Felitta was working on film scripts with author Max Ehrlich. His first novel "Oktoberfest" 1973 was a thriller that made him enough money to finance time needed to write the bestseller horror story about reincarnation the hit film "Audrey Rose" 1975 and later its sequel "For Love of Audrey Rose" 1982. Cambridge Spies
<p>London: BBC Worldwide 2003. DVD Movie. Fine copy/fine. DVD movie. 2 disc set. 234 minutes. Coded for regions 2 Europe and 4 and recorded in the PAL format but playable on some DVD machines and in most computers. <br /><br />Starring Tom Hollander Samuel West Rupert Penry-Jones Toby Stephens. Written by Peter Moffat without any semblance to historical truth. The film about four students at Cambridge University in the early 1930s who became committed communists and spied for the Soviets is a travesty. The real stories about Kim Philby Anthony Blunt Donald Maclean and Guy Burgess are much more compelling and interesting than is shown here. Fortunately each of them has often been written about and the truth is widely known.</p> BBC Worldwide unknown

Paris: : Union Artistic Films distributor; F. P. S. Films production company circa 1927. First edition. . Other. Very Good/No Jacket. Double grande affiche 63 X 94 inches; 1600 x 2385 mm. On ne bandine pas avec l'amour or Man spielt nicht mit der Liebe. Two sheets restored and linen backed. G. W. Pabst director; Willy Haas screenwriter; Alfred de Musset source; Lili Damita Werner Krause actors. Une femme dans la nuit. On ne bandine pas avec l'amour or Man spielt nicht mit der Liebe. Paris: Union Artistic Films distributor; F. P. S. Films production company circa 1927. First edition. Double grande affiche 63 X 94 inches; 1600 x 2385 mm. Designed by G. Elizabeth. Two sheets restored and linen backed. The sheets are barely out of alignment; a couple tears laid down including one with a tiny bit of loss in the upper-left scene; a few old wrinkles flattened out; touch of rubbing; faint discoloration along the folds possibly with some minor touchups a couple instances of minor fold separation; a few faint tiny splashes visible in the lower-right margin. Presents as near fine. Union Artistic Films distributed four films starring Lili Damita produced by F. P. S. Films during the 1927-1928 season according to a two-page advertisement in the September 1927 issue of Cinegraphie. They were: Papillon d'or Der goldene Schmetterling 1926 directed by Michael Curtiz IMDb ID: tt0016930 La nuit nuptiale The Queen Was in the Parlour an English co-production based on a Noël Coward play 1927 directed by Graham Cutts tt0017900 La danseuse de grenade Die berühmte Frau 1927 directed by Robert Wiene tt0437864 and possibly this one under the title On ne joue pas avec l'amour Man spielt nicht mit der Liebe 1927 tt0017116. Man spielt nicht mit der Liebe is the only Lili Damita film we could identify produced by F. P. S. Films to co-star Werner Krauss. Using IMDb's collaborator search the only additional entries are Pabst's Secrets of a Soul Geheimnisse einer Seele produced by Neumann-Filmproduktion which starred Krauss and apparently featured Damita in an uncredited role and a ghost entry for Une femme dans la nuit created using the minimal information available in this poster from the Heritage Auctions listing. We cannot say with certainty that any of the assumptions made in the course of this catalog description are accurate and we still have a difficult time swallowing that Pabst who would be fresh off Joyless Street would not receive mention on the promotional material of any of his projects. All that said given the information available Une femme dans la nuit is either a completely ignored and immediately forgotten prestige project featuring two popular actors or was an alternate title from one of just two lost Pabst films. Either way it's still one hell of a decorative piece. Last year Heritage Auctions also sold a French grande one sheet half this size for this film under the same title with no additional release or production information.
