First edition of Beckett's first collection of short fiction by most assessments his scarcest trade publication. The edition consisted of approximately 1500 copies of which only a third sold. Beckett was reluctant to allow its reprinting finally relenting only in 1966 for the "Hors Commerce" edition for scholars which paved the way for the public editions of later years. F&F 16.
