Regardless the full calf binding is special with its watercolor cameo centerpiece of a sailboat on the front the floral vignette on the back and portrait of Shelley on the spine. Alas the calf is heavily rubbed along the joints with starting by the lower rear joint and the spine is darkened and heavily rubbed. N. P. 1930. 1 vols. 12mo. For Seymour Halpern the post card with a small note tipped on reading "91 is 16 upside down." The quote is written in the lower margin under a clipped portrait of Maurois which has been laid down on cream board and then again on brown board this last chipped the postcard bears in blind imprint of Trude Geiringer Dora Horovitz in lower corner. 1 vols. 12mo. The postcard bears greeting for Seymour Halpern aged 16 and the quote reads "a maiden speech is always an ordeal but a maiden speech in a foreign language is a terrifying affair!" Simone de Caillavet Maurois was the wife of Andr� Maurois and daughter of the French writer and playwright Gaston Armam de Caillavet and granddaughter of Mme. Arman de Caillavet who was famous for her salon about which the French literary world circled and she was a close friend and influence on Anatole France. <br/><br/> unknown
