Silver title lettering and decoration to spine and front board remains very sharp and vivid against contrasting black cloth. A well made book which sits solid and square with all corners sharp. Housed in the distinctive mauve coloured dustwrapper which has been neatly price clipped. Scarce Daily Mail 'Book of the Month' wraparound band is present and remains in very good condition. Light wear to the edges with minor signs of handling commensurate with age otherwise a very presentable example of the dustwrapper. Protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. A very nice copy of Maugham's observations and notes in a journal which he diligently kept from 1892 for the greater part of his life.
