Pages 120 to 136 not containing any Poe material have been neatly removed. . on pg. 143-145 "The Raven" first version 1st Edition 1st Printing of Raven by Poe using Pesudonym Quarles This is the accepted first version as it was set in type from the manuscript. Elegantly bound in moDeRn calf spines and corner with red labels with gilt lettering and marbled boards This volume also contains poes Some WoRds with a Mummy first printing page 363; Valley of Unrest page 392; The City in the Sea page 393; and WALT WHITMANs The BOy Lover page 479 And The Death of Windfoot page 639. It is likely that Poe himself helped to write the introductory text. Why Poe choose to publish the poem under a pseudonym is uncertain though it was apParently a general preference for the AmericaN Review.
