November 1562 in Zürich) war ein Ordenspriester im Augustinerorden und ab 1541 Reformator, reformierter Theologe und Alttestamentler in Strassburg, Oxford und Zürich. // Entgegen einer althergebrachten These bedeutete der Durchbruch der Reformation nicht das Ende des christlichen Aristotelismus. ‎Gebraucht, aber gut erhalten. - In seiner Seelenlehre verwendet Aristoteles Konzeptionen, die dem heutigen Informationsbegriff zu entsprechen scheinen. Dieser Begriff könnte also ein Schlüssel zum Verständnis des Aristoteles sein. Allerdings ist der inflationär verwendete Informationsbegriff heute vielfach umstritten. Wenn aber die Unklarheit auch auf der Seite des Informationsbegriffs liegt, kann dann der Blick auf Aristoteles Klarheit schaffen? Dieser Frage geht die vorliegende Arbeit nach: Erstens rekonstruiert sie, wie es zur Begriffsverwirrung um "Information" kam. Zweitens betrachtet sie bisherige Verhältnisbestimmungen von Informationsterminologie und aristotelischer Philosophie. Drittens untersucht sie die aristotelische Seelenlehre als ein Projekt, die vielen Phänomene des Lebens und die relative Einheit des Lebensprinzips Seele in einem differenzierten begrifflichen Rahmen zu fassen.
