brossura Gilbert Simondon (1924-1989) è stato soltanto di recente riconosciuto come una figura chiave del panorama filosofico francese del '900, ma la rilevanza del suo contributo ha già superato i limiti di una passeggera riscoperta. Questo saggio ripercorre il pensiero simondoniano nel suo sviluppo complessivo, inquadrandone due aspetti finora scarsamente messi in luce: il legame con la tradizione della morfologia filosofica e le tesi di carattere estetico. La filosofia di Simondon - ancora poco conosciuta in Italia - dà infatti i suoi migliori frutti se letta da una parte come una filosofia della forma, e dall'altra come prospettiva sulla tecnica rivolta alla naturalità del fare umano, dunque alternativa a quella heideggeriana. Sotto l'egida del concetto di individuazione, i due versanti del pensiero simondoniano (la forma e la tecnica) si armonizzano in un grande quadro metafisico in cui la fi sica è già un'etica cosmica.

In esso il T. muovendo dal terzo libro della Rettorica aristotelica studiò la natura propria dell'arguzia e la natura del linguaggio, svolgendo non solo le acutezze "verbali" e "lapidarie", ma altrsì quelle "simboliche" o "figurative" (statue, imprese, geroglifici, emblemi, insegne ..) persino i "sensibili animati". Pp 12 non num., 431, 17 non numerate, al frontespizio marca tipografica con emblema di Fenice sorgente da fiamme mirante il Sole entro con cornice con motto Vivam Laetiori Vita sic Renovata istoriata con grottesche, testatine, capolèttere e finalini. Lievi segni del tempo e d'uso alla legatura, interno fresco seppur leggermente rifilato in testa: più che buon esemplare. Una delicata poesia a p. 24 non numerata sulle lucciole e alcune glosse di antica mano. Ristampa veneziana di quest'opera, apparsa per la prima volta nel 1654 a Torino, in cui Tesauro esplora con acume e dovizia di esempi l'intera gamma del parlar figurato, cercando la spiegazione della metafora nei principi salienti della Retorica aristotelica e indugiando in particolar modo sulle "argutezze" e sui "concetti predicabili", cioè su complesse figure retoriche che consentono di realizzare i princìpi e gli orientamenti della poetica barocchista: i fini del diletto e della "meraviglia", la prospettiva illusionista, l'accumulo e lo sdoppiamento degli oggetti rappresentati. La parola è ricondotta alla sua funzione simbolica e l'idea di metafora diviene, coma fa notare Ezio Raimondi, tutt'uno con l'idea di uomo. La presente edizione è accresciuta di due trattati, De'concetti predicabili e Degli emblemi, che pur essendo anche essi afflitti da verbosità, concettismi e barocchismi son pur tuttavia un utile guida per distinguere le figure meramente verbali ovvero retoriche da figure simboliche e in queste le imprese dagli emblemi che sebbene entrambe di natura metaforica differiscono per stili e complessità; presente anche un utile glossarietto di tutti gli altri simboli di fatto ovvero non verbali: ballo, giochi equestri, mascherate, trofei, etc. Nel suo famoso studio "L'Umorismo", Luigi Pirandello ricordava l'opera ("oh, il Cannocchiale aristotelico di Emmanuele Tesauro!"), per l'aridità e cerebralità del suo disquisire, tra le "fatiche speciosissime che si fecero nel secolo XVII per definir l'ingenio". Curioso il fatto che il Tesauro fosse tardivamente arroccato in filosofia su posizioni neo-aristoteliche proprio in un secolo in cui l'aristotelismo, già attaccato o sbeffeggiato da Erasmo, da Giordano Bruno, da Telesio, dal Vives, dal La Ramée, dal Nizzolio, trovava in Galileo uno dei suoi più acerrimi nemici e, insieme, uno dei suoi più conseguenti critici.
