Illustrated with photographs. 8vo vellum backed blue paper boards lettered in gilt on front and spine. Original glassine present though significantly chipped. Lacking the slipcase. Carpenter's bookplate with Kipling quote on front pastedown with inscription above reading "For Herbert M. Carpenter erasure Evanston Ill. June 14 corrected from 24 1951." It appears "Herbert" has been corrected also. Brothers! Typed errata slip tipped to free endpaper differs from another we have examined. It lists only 2 items vs. 3 and the wording in the second correction differs slightly. Offset from bookplate on endpaper otherwise fine. A unique copy of a scarce title. W. M. Carpenter unknown

Full green leather faded to brown at the spine is ornately decorated with gilt on the spine and has a cartouche on the upper board for "My Lambkin". Said lambkin is named in gilt on the leather surround to the interior of the upper board as "Janet Sydney Ronald Keep" and the date Christmas 1908 is also in gilt on the interior leather. All pages edges in gilt. The book has one library stamp only on the title page somehow it once ended up in the Dorset Country Library System in the 1970s else it is clean and bright inside.
