London: Macmillan & Co. Limited 1926. First Edition. Burgundy Cloth. Very Good/Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾. N/a. 416pp. 1926. First edition. 8vo. sized. A very good clean tight first edition copy with the much rare jacket with it - in good plus condition. Original publisher's bright burgundy cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and to the front board. A former owner's contemporary ink name and place inscription neat to the front paste-down Caradoc Rowland. A Sunday Times literary review of this title tipped to the rear paste-down - could be removed without too much harm done if any with the right solvent. Slight spotting to the front paste-down and to the front endpaper. The jacket has not been price-clipped. There are a couple of chips to the head of the spine of the jacket fortunately no loss of text - the largest being 22mm x 12mm at its fullest extent. Several small chips to the tail of the spine - the rear two corners and to the tail of the front panel of the jacket. The jacket also has a few small repaired nicks and very short tears and a couple of short tears to the rear flap it is also slightly loose fitting to this flap. Around the leading edge of 3 leaves have expertly repaired nicks with light associated creasing. A very good bright tight copy in scarce surviving jacket in good plus condition. Macmillan & Co.
