London: Chatto & Windus 1947. Bound in the publishers maroon cloth hardboards with gilt title lettering to spine this is the first impression of the first edition of this famous Aldous Huxley title. Discussing amongst other things the contentious subject of the concentrated economical and political power wielded by the ruling minority. The 63 pages are in very presentable condition with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp and no fading to maroon cloth. Gilt title lettering remains sharp and legible. Housed in the matching cream and maroon coloured dustwraper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Small chip to the head of spine otherwise a very good example of a dustwrapper produced in conformity to wartime standards. Dustwrapper now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Overall this is certainly a tidy copy that presents well. Photographs of the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. A nice example of an interesting Aldous Huxley first edition.
