Spine slightly cocked corners scuffed and bent in especially the lower corners minor edge wear with some rubbing and scuffing to boards. 'Science fiction' inked on front paste down small spot on page 17/18 opposite the first illustration otherwise text is clean and unmarked. <br> Front end paper has this note in ink: 'Donated to the University of Detroit High School Library on November 9 1951 by ---------- a student." However there are no markings stamps or writing anywhere else in the book. It appears unlikely this was ever in a circulating library. <p> A long time science fiction classic of the first flight to the moon this was one of Heinlein's novels written in the 40's and 50's to young adults. <br> "They called themselves the Galileo Club - not a bad name for a group of space-minded young men who had high hopes of putting one of their homemade rocket ships in orbit. Color Illustrations; Three Issues of Boy's Life Magazine - May June July 1958 containing the short work of science fiction by Robert A. Heinlein - Tenderfoot in Space. These are all oversized magazines in Very Good- to Very Good condition and all were issued without dust jackets. The magazine covers have some light edge wear and creasing to the spine ends and corners. The spines of two of the magazines have sunning. The July issue has a two inch tear to the bottom spine end. There is a bit of a dusty smell to the insides of the magazines. The magazines are illustrated with both color and black and white illustrations throughout. ""A Tenderfoot in Space" is a short story by Robert A. Heinlein serialized in Boys' Life magazine in May June and July 1958. The original working title was "Tenderfoot on Venus" when it was written in 1956. It was extensively cut according to orders by the magazine editor for its published form. It was reprinted in the retrospective Requiem: New Collected Works by Robert A. Heinlein and Tributes to the Grand Master. .A boy and his dog emigrate to Venus. The boy joins a local Scout troop learning how to survive in the Venusian wilderness with its various dangers." . Boy's Life Magazine unknown
