Recueil érotique et scatologique célèbre dont on connaît plusieurs éditions anciennes (1776, 1782, 1803). Les pièces sont de Caylus, Legrand, Grandval père et fils, Piron, Mérard de S' Just ... Il existe deux états de cette édition. Le premier est décrit par Launay 298 et par Pia 1309- 1311. Le second état - c'est le cas de cet exemplaire - contient en plus au tome II un f. non chiffré avec un poème: C'est en vain qu'à Cythère un imprudentfouteur ... Au verso de la p. 229 du tome II petite vignette avec le bébé faune couché sur le dos arborant un membre démesuré (variante du faune ityphallique masturbateur du titre). Ce second état, dont Launay ne parle pas, est décrit par Pia 1312-13 et par Odry 31. Ce dernier doute que Malassis soit responsable de cette édition. Il pourrait s'agir d'une contrefaçon. Les deux frontispices sont des eaux-fortes de Félicien ROPS. Rouir 597 - Exsteens 719, Ramiro 473, Mascha 449 pour l'une et Rouir 674, Exsteens 718, Ramiro 472, Mascha 448 pour l'autre. Dans cet exemplaire les gravures sont sur Chine volant à toutes marges, montées en largeur. C'est l'état normal des exemplaires du premier tirage Malassis. Odry affirme que dans les exemplaires du second état les frontispices ne sont pas sur Chine volant encartés mais collés sur vélin. L'édition Malassis fut condamnée à la destruction par jugement du Tribunal de Lille le 6 mai 1868 (Aff. contre Duquesne). Drujon 375 - Gay 1205 - Vicaire VII 783. Exemplaire sur vergé de Hollande.‎

‎Die Auflage betrug 530 Exemplare. Diese Mappe ist das erste von drei Beiwerken zu Cary von Karwaths 'Die Erotik in der Kunst'. Die farbigen Faksimile-Reproduktionen nach den Aquarellen Lebèques wurden einzeln auf Tafeln montiert und auf französisch und deutsch mit der entsprechenden 'Hauptsünde' betitelt. Diese eindeutig erotische Auslegung der 7 Hauptsünden dürfte wohl nicht ganz im Sinne der Kirche sein. Umschlag etwas fleckig mit Randläsuren, Rücken hinerlegt. Issue I.] The edition was 530 copies. This folder is the first of three attachments to Cary von Karwath's 'Die Erotik in der Kunst'. The coloured facsimile reproductions after the watercolours of Lebèque were mounted individually on plates and titled in French and German with the corresponding 'capital sin'. This clearly erotic interpretation of the 7 deadly sins is probably not quite in the spirit of the Christ church. Cover slightly stained minor blemishes in the margin, small tears at the spine repaired. The plates at the margin slightly grasped, the illustrations fresh. Hayn-Got.
