Tradusse in latino alcuni discorsi di Mussolini nell'epoca della "fondazione dell'impero" (1936) e compose, suscitando il biasimo di Gaetano De Sanctis, le epigrafi latine poste sugli edifici della Città universitaria romana. "This . contains three of Field's sub rosa poems: "Socratic Love" written for the Papyrus Club Boston September 1888; "In Imitation of Robert Herrick. On Julia Unlacing Herself"; and "Little Willie". It contains the complete version of "Little Willie" including the last stanza that was suppressed in early printed versions of the poem - Piehl Field Catalogue 122". See BAL 5768 for the history of "Little Willie". The Berg Colletion dates this from 1888 based on a note on the endpaper: I think this an error based on the date of the first poem. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Volume 2: � 6 VII - XI 2 2 - 413 22 � of which 4 is an essay on Everyman's Library by Ernest Rhys and 16 pages of further titles from publishing house. Illustrated endpapers � being a peach coloured swirl against a white background with red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip and dark purple coloured titles to the top text block edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured title to the front panel and back strip. One of the earliest examples of erotica in the English 18th century. Everyman's Library �Nos. 355 and 356. Volume 1: � softening of the back strip edges with bumping of the top book corners and rubbing of the lower corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Previous owners ex libris plate and name to the three front endpaper and original bookseller's stamp to the lower left hand corner of the same page. The selfsame previous owner has underlined and marked the internal text. The dustwrapper is not in great shape. Chipping with loss to the dustwrapper corners and back strip corners. There is a 3 inch split to the lower edge of the front fold over crease with rubbing and handling marks to the dustwrapper. Browning to the verso. Volume 2: � Rubbing of the back strip edges and to the book corners. Some white splodges to the book panels. Age toning of the text block edges and a previous owner has made some marginalia and underlinings of the text. Previous owner's name and ex libris plate to the free front end page with original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower left hand corner of the same page. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip corners. A few small tears to the top dustwrapper edge along with increasing with rubbing and sunning of the dustwrapper. Faint foxing to the verso.
