<p>FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINTING IN NEAR-FINE CONDITION. Book is very straight square and clean with a small bookseller's label inside cover board. Pristine covers are bright wheat with bright brown design and title on cover and spine. No scuffs on edges; corners are straight and unbumped. Spine edges are crisp; bindings and gutters tight and clean . Book shows very little wear or aging no foxing and is in superb condition.</p><p>Dust Jacket In Brodart is bright and "Very Good". It has been corner-clipped so there is no selling price. Some fading and discoloration along spine and corners; a few small chips on upper spine edge and slight browning along top inside paper edges.</p> VIKING PRESS hardcover

The book was the best-selling novel of 1939 and became instantly controversial upon its release for its depiction of farmers and worker rights. Of course The Grapes of Wrath was also adapted into the classic 1940 film directed by John Ford and starring Henry Fonda which was one of the first films selected by The Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. Boldly signed by John Steinbeck on a page bound-in. In fine condition. An exceptional presentation.
