After he had analyzed gases in the blood he found that there was a higher concentration of oxygen in the blood flowing in arteries than that flowing in the veins thus being the "First quantitative analysis of the blood gases" Garrison & Morton No. 929.<br><br>"In this paper Magnus determines that the oxygen nitrogen and carbon dioxide content of the arterial and venous blood of horses. He introduces blood into mercury in a funnel and by repeatedly applying nergative pressure he liberates the gases from the blood. The mercury seal maintains the anaerobic conditions when transferring the gases to a eudiometer for analysis. Magnus finds a positive arterio-venous difference for oxygen and a negative difference for carbon dioxide. rom this he concludes that carbon dioxide is added not in the lungs but during circulation. he also calculates the balance of carbon dioxide assuming values for the cardiac output and carbon dioxide elimination and the measured arterio-venous difference. Hoe konden uitgevers onrendabele maar cultureel waardevolle titels garanderen? En hoe kon het assortiment in de boekhandel van 'hoog niveau' blijven? Zij zijn niet van Jeremia onderzoekt de in de woordentwist ogenschijnlijk verloren geraakte geloofsbrieven waarop deze opdracht is gebaseerd: dat er hoog niveau geleverd wordt, waarvan kopers door brede mediavoorlichting kennis kunnen nemen. Er verschijnen tegenwoordig dermate veel titels, dat een groot deel niet eens kan worden opgemerkt. ‎Citroen est tout simplement en retard pour la creation d'un modele de classe moyenne. La concurrence a longuement et largement explore ce segment quand Citroen presente la GS en Aout 1970. Dans ce livre, l'auteur, Marc Stabel retrace l'histoire de la Citroen GS et GSA. Le developpement et le contexte historique ainsi que l'evolution de tous les types annee apres annee sont largement racontes par de nombreux faits et de nombreuses photos inedites, qui en font un ouvrage de reference indispensable pour les amateurs. Par rapport au livre neerlandais sur les GS et GSA, publie par Citrovisie en 2016, cette version anglaise a ete enrichie et completee.Citroen was late with a mid-range model. The competition had had models in this segment for a long time, but when Citroen presented the GS in August 1970 with its streamlined design, fantastic suspension, avant-garde dashboard and spacious boot, it immediately set a new standard in its class. Admittedly, there were some weaknesses, but despite this, the car represented a particularly well-balanced whole. Citroen rapidly expanded the GS range with an estate car and the practical Service van. The top model was the Birotor, a GS with a Wankel rotary engine. In September 1979, the GS was succeeded by the GSA, a thoroughly modernised car and now with the addition of a long-awaited fifth door.
