In good condition. 8 pp. FIRST and ONLY EDITION Describes the baptism and subsequent ceremonies for Prince August Leopold of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha December 6 1867-October 11 1922 known in Brazil as Dom Augusto Leopoldo. He was a prince of the Empire of Brazil and of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha-Koháry. The second of four sons born to German Prince Ludwig August of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Princess Leopoldina of Brazil and the second grandson of the Emperor D. Pedro II the prince was for some years the presumptive heir to the Imperial Crown of Brazil. He was an officer in the Imperial Brazilian navy and later in the Imperial Austro-Hungarian navy. His descendants would form the Saxe-Coburg and Gotha branch of the Imperial House of Brazil.The name Fausto Augusto d'Aguiar 1817-1890 appears in print at the end of the text. A native of Rio de Janeiro he was director geral da secretaria do imperio president of the provinces of Ceará and Pará deputy to national legislatures from 1856 to 1864 1869 to 1875 and finally senator.
