The Saturday Evening Post Stories 1957
Random House. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1957. Hardcover. Scarce promotional edition hardcover with dustjacket and the original box features the first appearance of "Good-By Grandma" by Ray Bradbury presents better than the condition grades we have assigned to it gray cloth binding with bright red mounted title on front cover black title on spine book looks new from the outside the only book flaws are on the front and rear blank end-papers: a strip of tan glue residue on the front and a narrow strip of tape on the back also gentle short creases to the top corners of the pages the publisher's printed label is pasted on the inside of the front cover and it also has a strip of tape affixed to it we rate the clear acetate jacket as "Good" because of a 1-inch deep piece missing from the bottom edge of the rear panel a tear at the same location that has been tape-mended and a narrow strip of tape along a portion of the rear flap edge the jacket has very little of the usual scuffing that acetate is prone to a short edge-tear is also present at the top of the front panel but the front panel and spine are quite attractive it is illustrated with two bright gold human figures at bottom of spine and front panel the original black and gold box features the same human figure illustration in gold and black also included is the original silk gold protective band that also has the human figure illustration the box is in VG condition with heavy scuffing on the bottom and two of the seams with short splits .
