The work ws inspired by three requests to Mrs. Woolf for donations --one for a war prevention society one from the treasurer of a woman's college and the third from the treasurer of a society for obtaining employment for professional women. The book traces the connection between these three requests and discovers upon what terms the three guineas should be given to the three treasurers. Very good spine gilt somewhat dulled and a touch of wear at the tips.
