Disch Thomas M.
Getting into Death & Other Stories

This volume is like new; I found it at the estate sale of an avid sf collector who placed his books when purchased new in mylar jackets and kept them that way. First edition. A solid collection of Disch's stories from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Standouts include the title story and "The Asian Shore." Content differs considerably from that of the 1973 British collection of the same title which is not a strong collection.
Alfred A. Knopf

Dispatch Photo News Service
1939 Bound volume of 75 original 13x11 photos of newsworthy pictures each with a bound in caption sheet: much on domestic events: sports WPA fire famine sports disasters WWII in Europe royals famous people world events
New York: Dispatch Photo News Service. Hardcover. Very Good. Oblong folio olive buckram titled "News Evens 1939" on spine really large photos much larger than your regular news service 8x10s measuring 13.5 x 11 inches on resin coated paper binding shows some wear about nine photos have some light damage to lower far left margin probably reparable but the vast majority are in very good or better condition with usual age toning striking photos of the war as well as domestic photos of events back home. RARE: OCLC records the Cincinnati Public Library as having "boxes" of photos from this company 1939-1945 425 photos and that's it. Some very dramatic photos hardly any that can be considered art and stitch-bound along left margin we briefly considered selling this photo by photo and then dispensed with that idea as too time consuming.
