King Leopold whose physician he remained until that monarch's death appointed him a Chevalier of the Order of Leopold." Dr. Bruwer was an early member of Radiology Ltd. performed the first mammogram in Southern Arizona and compiled and edited a comprehensive history of radiology. He called these enchanting prints skiagraphs shadow drawings and they have been shown in galleries and gift shops around the country. Dr. Bruwer had a keen awareness of both the benefits and dangers of radiation and worked tirelessly to lessen the possibility of nuclear war. The group is housed in its original cardboard portfolio with a glossy illustrated paper label laid down. Some scattered foxing to the introductory page and soiling to the box but plates clean and bright. These set and costume designs for the Dallas Theater Center were the Danish artist and designer Wiinblad's first theatrical designs for an American theater. He notes "For me 'The Tempest' is a wonderful story a fairy tale. in my sets and costumes I am inspired equally by the play and by the stage and room where the performance has to take place. to transfer the audience into another world." He was appointed brigadier general in the Confederate army in September 1861 and successively surrendered Fort Donelson led a division at Perryville and a corps at Chickamauga and served as Kirby Smith's chief of staff in the Trans-Mississippi.
