Possibly unpublished; while it's entirely reasonable to expect these images may have been published in a small forum such as in a government journal or report initial research is unable to confirm such. <br/><br/>Initially appointed by President Taft in 1911 no doubt as a outgrouth of the North Pacific Fur Seal Convention of 1911 Christoffers served with the Bureau of Fisheries till the 1930s rising to the position of Chief Warden. From mss notes on the back of each image we see Christoffers is credited for photographing these 14 scenes and presumably is also the author of the seal activity observations often quite detailed regarding each image also recorded on the photograph verso. The images show divers aspects of the herd with the 'Bull' often featured e.g. "The Harem Master. ‎PMM 424. - Erste Ausgabe. - "Winston Churchill ist der einzige Staatsmann der Neuzeit, der die umwälzenden Ereignisse, an deren Gestaltung er maßgeblich beteiligt war, selbst in einem großen, sehr persönlichen Geschichtswerk geschildert hat. An die sechs Bände seiner 'Weltkrise', die den Ersten Weltkrieg, seine Vorgeschichte und Nachwehen umfassen, schließt sich mit abermals sechs Bänden "Der Zweite Weltkrieg" mit seiner Vorgeschichte an. Diese zwölf Bände hat Churchill stets als ein Ganzes begriffen und sie eine 'Chronik des Zweiten Dreißigjährigen Krieges' genannt. ... Im Februar 1959 brachte er die hier angeführte einbändige Ausgabe von 'Der Zweite Weltkrieg' heraus und fügte ihr einen Epilog an, in welchem er über sein Nachkriegswirken Rechenschaft gibt und aus der Sicht seines neunten Lebensjahrzehnts gleichsam die Summe zieht. Dieser Epilog kann als sein Vermächtnis gelten. Er erinnert darin an seine Rede in Fulton, im März 1946, in der er erstmals vom 'Eisernen Vorhang' sprach und erklärte: "Dies ist gewiß nicht das Befreite Europa, für dessen Aufbau wir kämpften." Er betrachtet die Sowjetunion nach Stalins Tod und dem ungarischen Aufstand und gelangt zum prophetischen Schluß: "Niemand kann glauben, daß dieser Zustand ewig dauern wird. Die Lehre des Kommunismus trennt sich allmählich von der russischen Militärmaschine ab. Die Völker werden auch weiterhin gegen das sowjetische Kolonialreich aufbegehren, nicht weil es kommunistisch, sondern, weil es eine bedrückende Fremdherrschaft ist."
