Dark blue cloth gilt lettering on spine 4 to 100 pp. Title page dated 1844 probably when Kearny wrote his journal after serving with the French army but book was probably published much later by his son as it contains material written after Kearny died at Chantilly in 1862 while fighting a rear-guard action after Second Bull Run. This copy signed and inscribed by his son John Watts Kearny and is dated June 8 1891. Owners bookplate front paste-down no marks in book binding tight.
