French and John H. Chatham. Included are many examples of music built on local lore as well as cowboy songs canal-boat songs "The Slave's Lament" songs of the Civil War era etc. Small corner chips from back cover. 7.5" x 5.75" Most of the plates are full-length photo-portraits of players and singers including a number of Native Americans.
