Azul is a collection of short stories and poetry by Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío. It was published in 1888 as Darío's first major work and a major work of the Modernismo literary movement.12 He is commonly considered the initiator of literary modernism a thesis that has been supported by personalities such as Octavio Paz Ángel Rama or Darío himself. Félix Rubén García Sarmiento January 18 1867 ¿ February 6 1916 known as Rubén Darío was a Nicaraguan poet who initiated the Spanish-American literary movement known as modernismo modernism that flourished at the end of the 19th century. Darío has had a great and lasting influence on 20th-century Spanish literature and journalism. He has been praised as the "Prince of Castilian Letters" and undisputed father of the modernismo literary movement. Azul. 1888 has as many tales in prose as poems which caught the critics' attention through their metric variety. It presents us some of the preoccupations characteristic of Dario such as his expression of dissatisfaction towards the bourgeoisie see for example the tale "El rey burgués" A new edition of the text was published in 1890 this one was augmented with several new texts amongst which were sonnets in Alexandrine verses. Modernism's stage of plenitude and of the Darian poetry is marked by the book Prosas profanas y otros poemas a collection of poems in which the presence of the erotic is more important and which contains some esoteric themes such as in the poem "Coloquio de los centauros". "In queste memorie si narrano le scoperte fatte nell'oceano Australe dagli Europei cominciando dal Magellano, insino agli ultimi navigatori del 1848. LA. parla dei primi scoprimenti dell'Australia e guida il lettore di porto in porto, di golfo in golfo, per tutto l'ampio giro di quell'immensa isola. br. Pippo Russo esamina e spiega alcune espressioni tipiche del dialetto siciliano, con molta ironia ma con altrettanta attenzione alla loro origine. Si va da "comprare un bambino" a tutte le sfumature di "duci" e "salìto", dall'uso del verbo "canziàrsi" al termine "facciòlu" che non ha corrispettivi in nessun'altra lingua, e così via. La selezione di sicilianismi che l'autore offre al lettore è gustosa e interessante, e talvolta lo spunto per la disamina è legato a vicende connesse all'attualità oppure a curiosità e variazioni nate dall'uso dei termini stessi.
