Title translates to Aggadah and Homiletics: Including Articles, Rulings, and Elucidations on the Legends. Rabbi Zevi ben Moses Lass (b. 1849) , was born in Girkalnis, Kovno Province. He studied under his uncle before joining the Perushim of Eisiskes for three years. He then went to Vilna and was ordained by Rabbi Isaac Elhanan Spektor and Rabbi Isaac Harif of Slonim. He was appointed the rabbi of Jieznas in 1871 but due to the financial instability of the community, he immigrated to New York in 1884. There he served as a preacher, he was known as the "Yezner Rav" and as a kashrut supervisor under the authority of Chief Rabbi Jacob Joseph for twelve years. In the introduction to this book, Rabbi Lass writes, "'Originally, [when I first came to New York, ] ...I planned to publish [from my ms. The] section of responsa [on gittin called Geresh Yerahim] because there within are many important matters of practical halakhah. However, after my wheel [of fortune] turned I was left without any support and not one penny remained in my hands. I concluded that I should [instead] publish the section on aggadah and homiletics [i. E. , Ateret Zevi]. It is my hope that this section will attract many of my brethren among the children of Israel in this land to support me and my household, and also so that I will be able to disseminate from my wellspring all my novel interpretations in halakhah, i. brossura Lo scrittore H.P. Lovecraft affermava che il sentimento più antico dell'animo umano è la paura, e che la paura più grande è quella dell'ignoto. Se infatti conosciamo qualcosa, lo possiamo razionalizzare, e quindi ridimensionare. Ecco allora la nascita delle storie di paura e di tutta una serie di figure archetipiche di cui si racconta da migliaia di anni in ogni parte del mondo, le quali hanno incarnato quelle che sono le molteplici paure insite nell'animo umano: vampiri e lupi mannari, zombie e fantasmi, demoni e streghe, e molte altre ancora. Ognuna di queste figure è stata accuratamente esaminata, a partire dal ricco corpus di leggende che ne racconta e dal folklore proveniente da ogni parte del mondo, per poi passare a una loro trattazione di carattere scientifico: lo scopo è di mostrare cosa si nasconde dietro ciascun mito e da dove questo abbia avuto origine. Essendo poi degli archetipi, prodotti della cultura umana entrati a far parte dell'immaginario collettivo, queste figure possono inoltre venire utilizzate per interpretare la psicologia umana, il modo in cui ci rapportiamo col mondo e la complessa società in cui viviamo.

brossura "Può sembrare strano vedere una Teoria sulla lettura, un saggio dedicato ai vampiri e il nome di Ettore Majorana tutti racchiusi all'interno dello stesso testo. Eppure, se ci pensiamo bene, i tre argomenti sono legati più di quanto si possa immaginare. Non è stato difficile individuare un titolo che potesse contenere tematiche di questo tipo. Ed è così che ha preso forma "La trilogia del mistero", un lavoro nato quasi per caso, in un anno particolare. Temi e personaggi completamente diversi l'uno dall'altro ma legati da una unica parola: Mistero. La lettura, il meraviglioso mondo dove tutto è possibile. Un posto dove rifugiarsi, dove poter sognare, vivere e viaggiare senza alcun freno. Ad essa ho conferito un ruolo chiave per quanto riguarda l'evoluzione dell'essere umano. Il vampiro, creatura a me dà sempre cara sin dall'infanzia. Una figura divenuta protagonista della mia tesi di laurea con risvolti, come vedrete, del tutto inaspettati. Ettore Majorana, lo Scienziato con la S maiuscola. Schivo, riservato, un genio come pochi nella storia. La parola mistero accompagna la sua scomparsa, ancora oggi senza una risposta certa. È questo il puzzle, seppur descritto in poche righe, che compone "La trilogia del mistero". Un lavoro nato in un periodo particolare che ci ha accomunato tutti, rendendoci, di fatto, cittadini del mondo"

Questo libro propone al lettore un percorso simbolico esoterico sul culto dell'acqua, in parte storico ed in parte tematico, incentrato sul folklore popolare e contadino della Sardegna, dove tutto ha inizio con l'Età della pietra, non intesa semplicemente nel suo comune senso cronologico, ma in uno più specifico legato a questa prima materia, poiché proprio nel monumentalismo prenuragico e nuragico risiedono molti misteri dell'Isola. Il popolo sardo, che ha costruito quei monumenti, ha depositato una sorta di germe culturale vivo ancora oggi e determinante per il folklore locale. Partendo da questa premessa, l'Autore ha articolato il testo del libro, anche per una maggiore facilità di consultazione, in due parti strutturalmente articolate in capitoli e paragrafi. Nella prima parte, dopo aver esposto le caratteristiche chimiche e fisiche dell'acqua, le sue proprietà e anomalie, e tutti i fenomeni che la rendono misteriosa e inconsueta, questo fluido viene analizzato con i suoi Universi simbolici e le sue qualità sacrali, nel fantastico complessivo di tutti i tempi e delle varie culture, non solo quelle occidentali. Nella seconda parte si entra definitivamente nell'argomento preminente del libro, indagando sull'intenso rapporto che l'ambiente tradizionale della Sardegna ha avuto con l'acqua dove il suo culto ha avuto un ruolo di grande rilievo ed è stato uno degli aspetti più caratterizzanti della spiritualità isolana. E poiché dall'esame degli studi prodotti da diversi esponenti del mondo scientifico, oltre che dalla numerosa schiera di appassionati che si sono occupati del culto delle acque in Sardegna, prendono corpo tante leggende legate a questo argomento, abbiamo pensato di estrarre da queste una sintesi su quanto allora succedeva durante i riti e quindi fare nascere qualche riflessione su quel che l'acqua ha rappresentato e rappresenta tuttora nella storia del popolo sardo.
