Nous traversons ainsi au travers de ce document exceptionnel cinquante années de déconstruction d’un ordre ancien et d’émergence de la grande bourgeoisie plus industrielle qu’intellectuelle au prisme de ce royaliste de toujours qui déplore ces changements mais y participe, et qui nous narre, chemin faisant, ses succès et ses échecs, ses peurs et ses joies et nous fournit en passant des informations de tout premier ordre sur la vie judiciaire de l’époque.
