Nella pittura ha espresso il dolore, la depressione, ma anche la gioia, la passione, l'amore. Mentre il testo essenziale di Jonah Winter scioglie i nodi che si intrecciano nella sua biografia, l'arte di Ana Juan incontra quella di Frida Kahlo dando vita a immagini esuberanti e ricche di colore. Molti sono i riferimenti agli autoritratti dell'artista messicana ma la loro crudezza è qui addolcita dalla predominanza delle linee morbide e da un'ambientazione fiabesca popolata da una corte di buffi animali e da personificazioni del sole e della luna. Rappresentata prima da bambina e poi da adulta, Frida assume pose statuarie lasciando che, come nei suoi dipinti, l'attenzione dell'osservatore venga rapita dagli abiti sgargianti. Dettaglio chiave dell'immagine che tutti conosciamo, le sopracciglia che si saldano tra gli occhi spesso chiusi svolgono la funzione del terzo occhio aperto su di sé e assumono via via la forma di un uccello, così da alludere al volo dell'immaginazione, alla libertà che ha sempre contraddistinto la vita e l'arte di Frida Kahlo. Un tributo toccante e dolce a una delle più originali e influenti artiste del Novecento e un incoraggiamento per tutti a superare le difficoltà della vita attraverso la creatività.

Punto di snodo della sua speculazione filosofica, la decisione di arruolarsi venne presa dopo un lungo periodo vissuto in completa solitudine e si configurò come un radicale mutamento di vita, come estinzione di un percorso personale prevedibile e precostituito, come una condizione imprescindibile per il proseguimento del suo lavoro intellettuale. Da quel che si sa, Wittgenstein non avrebbe per nulla apprezzato tutta questa attenzione per la sua persona e l'avrebbe senz'altro considerata il sintomo di un'inutile e invadente curiosità. Eppure, la vita di Wittgenstein attrae proprio perché è la vita di un filosofo in grado di sedurre i propri allievi e non solo.

Ultimo di cinque fi gli, Wittgenstein fu legato visceralmente ai fratelli, come ben traspare dallo scambio epistolare durato oltre quarant'anni e qui riproposto. Non essendo state pensate per un utilizzo pubblico, queste lettere presentano senza censure e con grande onestà tutte le debolezze, le fragilità e i sogni del filosofo austriaco. Un'opera essenziale per comprendere il "lato umano" dell'enigma Wittgenstein.

Lettere a C. K. Ogden. Sulla traduzione del «Tractatus logico-philosophicus»
br. Le lettere che Wittgenstein scrisse a C. K. Ogden, il quale gli aveva sottoposto la traduzione inglese del "Tractatus", costituiscono un documento essenziale per chiunque voglia capire meglio alcuni dei passi più controversi di quella che è unanimemente considerata una delle grandi opere filosofiche del Novecento. Nelle sue lettere, infatti, Wittgenstein commenta la traduzione di Ogden e F. R Ramsey, correggendola in alcuni casi, proponendo soluzioni alternative in altri, indicando, dove riteneva di essere stato frainteso, la sua propria interpretazione. L'introduzione e i commenti del curatore inglese, G. H. Von Wright, forniscono tutti gli elementi necessari per comprendere lo sfondo e la portata delle osservazioni di Wittgenstein. Nell'introduzione all'edizione italiana Luigi Perissinotto mette invece in luce la rilevanza di queste lettere nell'attuale dibattito critico sul "Tractatus".
